Manager, Anesthesia Technicians - Abu Dhabi

Job Summary: This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and activities of the anesthesia technical department, including anesthesia clinical delivery systems, equipment determinations, recruitment, education, research and quality improvement programs. 

Primary Duties:

  • Operational management – managing the day-to-day activities of a high performing, multi-cultural team of staff, ensuring efficient resource utilization 
  • Managing staff recruitment, retention and engagement
  • Fiscal responsibility - oversees consumable and equipment purchase, usage and cost-saving initiatives
  • Promotes teamwork and uniformity 
  • Researches and evaluates new technological developments and advances in clinical practices
  • Serves as a consultant to physicians, nurses and other departments relating to anesthesia technical practices
  • Develops and implements process improvement initiatives
  • Develops quality improvement programs that ensure compliance with established regulations and guidelines
  • Plans and develops goals for each area
  • Assures competency of staff and that staff are provided with opportunities for professional growth
  • Formulates, interprets and enforces policies, procedures and best practices
  • Leadership in readiness and completion of accreditation processes, including Joint Commission International (JCI) and Magnet
  • Gathers and analyzes data to drive department and institutional KPIs

Experience and Education Requirements:
  • BSc or graduation from diploma from an accredited anesthesia technical program
  • Current standing with BLS, ACLS and/or PALS relevant to the area of specialty is required
  • Current national license is required
  • Registration as Anesthesia Technician or equivalent, from a recognized national professional credentialing agency is required
